Utah Flash Announce 2007-08 Television Schedule
All home games to be televised via THE FAN on KJZZ-TV or Comcast ON-DEMAND
PROVO, Utah, October 30, 2007 – The Utah Flash announced today that all 24 of its inaugural season home games will be televised by THE FAN, Utah’s Super Sports Network, on KJZZ-TV or on Comcast ON-DEMAND.
KJZZ-TV will feature five games live and five tape delayed games that are scheduled to air immediately follow live Utah Jazz games. All 24 games will also be available via Comcast ON-DEMAND. Having the games available on Comcast’s ON-DEMAND service means that Comcast Digital Cable customers can watch the games any time of the day, any day of the week with pause, fast-forward and reverse capability for no additional charge.
The Flash will also appear on national television via NBA TV a minimum of three times, with the exact schedule to be released by the network and the league at a later date.
“We are excited to be able to have all our home games on television in our inaugural season,” Flash owner Brandt Andersen said. “This is one more example of how important basketball is to fans in Utah, and continues to signal the significant role the Flash will play in the Utah sports landscape.”
The 2007-08 regular season will tip-off as the Flash visits the Anaheim Arsenal on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. MT. KJZZ will air its first live regular season Flash game from the McKay Events Center in Orem on Tuesday, Nov. 27 as the Flash host the Dakota Wizards at 7 p.m. MT.
About the Flash
The Utah Flash is getting set to begin its inaugural season in the NBA Development League. Already setting the standard for season ticket and sponsorship sales in the D-League, the Flash will play its home games at the McKay Events Center in Orem, Utah. The Flash is the development league affiliate of the NBA’s Utah Jazz and the Boston Celtics. First and second-year players from both of those teams can be assigned up to three times to the Flash for additional playing time and skills development.
About the NBA Development League
Entering its seventh season, the NBA Development League, the NBA’s minor league established to develop talent across all disciplines for the NBA, has relocated its headquarters from Greenville, S.C. to New York City. The move provides the D-League with direct access to the support and resources of the NBA and WNBA. During the 2006-07 season 19 NBA teams assigned 24 players to D-League rosters and 14 NBA teams called-up 16 players. In addition to players, the D-League has also provided the training ground for every referee hired by the NBA since 2002, and this season the first former D-League coach will lead an NBA team as Sam Vincent takes over the reins of the Charlotte Bobcats.
